Neil Young's New Album Pushes Back "Archives Volume 1"

Posted 11 months ago

An update on that Neil Young Looks You Straight In The Eye & Talks About His Potbelly post. Uncut is reporting that "Fork In The Road" is not just any song off Neil's forthcoming new album, it's the title track. Wow. In one week we get news of a new Neil Young album and new video. But seems news of a new Neil Young album is bumming some Young die-hards as its postponing the long awaited, already finished Archives Volume 1. Archives Volume 1, which spans the first leg of Neil Young's musical career was suppose to come out in February, but now has been pushed back for the trillionth time as focus shifted to the new album.

Another thing supposedly put on hold -Toast, an unreleased album with Crazyhorse. Toast was rumored for January release and now has also been pushed back. The moral being: Papa has a lot of things in that brown bag.

Fork in the Road, the follow-up to 2006's Bush-bashing Living With War is reportedly due sometime at the end of March. Young has already sampled the new tracks 'Cough Up the Bucks', 'Fuel Line', 'Hit The Road,' 'Get Around' along with 'Fork In The Road,' on his current world tour. With reference to the album's title and some song lyrics FIR is being tagged as Young's way of addressing the current state fo the economy. America we are definitely at a fork in the road. With January 20th just around the bend, things are looking toward us taking the right path.

Neil Young: way too productive at such an advanced age... of course, there are good and bad things about that, but, hell, I can't afford the Archives now. I'm kind of happy for the delay.

Projected date for the first volume of the Archives: April 2240, about two months after Neil Young's death at the age of 294.

Check out the flooring in the photo - it's all rubber. I think Neil has in mind what Bob describes.
