New Nada Surf Album Out In February

Indie rockers Nada Surf will release their fifth album, Lucky on February 5th, 2008 via Barsuk Records. The track "See These Bones" is currently streaming on the band's "MySpace page":http://www.myspace.com/nadasurf .Lucky is the follow-up to 2005's The Weight is a Gift and was recorded at Seattle's Robert Lang Studios, the same place Nirvana recorded their last studio session. Guests onthe album include Death Cab's Ben Gibbard, Ed Harcourt, John Roderick of the Long Winters, and guitarist Phil Wandscher of Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter. The trio will tour this fall and sample new tracks of Lucky.

"I tend to be pretty hopeful about things further in the future, but full of anxiety about the next eight hours," jokes guitarist Matthew Caws. "Unlike my friend John Flansburgh from They Might Be Giants, who says he's manic depressive without the depression, I think I'm manic depressive without the mania. Yet I'm ready to be cheerful at the drop of a reason.
