Kim Deal Against Making New Pixies Album
-
Artist:
Frank Black's creative juices are still flowing. He earlier this year he released Bluefinger under his Black Francis alias and has released a new solo album every year or two for the past fourteen years. He's even working on a Christmas album, dubbed Christmass.
So Black is pretty much not opposed to the idea of sitting down and putting together a new Pixies album. The Pixies, who reunited in 2004 and then toured, were rumored to be heading into the studio for their first new album in sixteen years (their last was 1991's Trompe Le Monde) this January, however Black is now saying that bassist Kim Deal is the one that's not going to make that happen."While I may have tried to convince her otherwise, maybe she's got a point," Black told a The Gothamist in a recent interview. "She doesn't need a new Pixies record, so maybe there doesn't need to be one."Do you think otherwise?
