Snoop Dogg Pleads Guilty To Felony Charge
-
Artist:
Snoop Dogg pleaded guilty to a felony possession of a dangerous weapon. The charge stems from a September 2006 incident where Orange County airport security found a collapsible baton in the rapper's computer bag.
Snoop said it was a prop for a music video (good one!), but authorities said it was a dangerous weapon. Snoop Dogg, 35, was sentenced to 160 hours of community service and three years' probation. He was also ordered to make a $10,000 charitable donation, in the plea deal. The felony will also be dropped to a lesser misdemeanor offense after one year if he does not violate the law. This might be tricky considering that a month after this arrest Snoop was arrested again at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank on October 26th on suspicion of transporting marijuana. Following an investigation police found a gun at Snoop's home. He received five years' probation and 800 hours of community service for that incident.Snoop's goal is to make music," his lawyer Donald Etra said, "not make court appearances."
