On October 9th Clapton will release both his aptly-titled autobiography Clapton: The Autobiography and double-disc career-spanning album Complete Clapton. 
Complete Clapton begins with Clapton's guitar career in bands like Blind Faith and Cream. Songs from his 40 year repertoire, which garnered 18 Grammys, also include his solo work beginning with his 1970 self-titled album and ending with 2005's Back Home Selections off his collaborations with B.B. King (Riding With The King) and J.J. Cale (The Road To Escondido) also are included on Complete Clapton.His autobiography traces his performances with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, which made people proclaim "Clapton is God" and looks back on hanging out with Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan. It traces his drug-addled and hard-drinking years, his marriage to George Harrison's ex-wife Patti Boyd and accidental death of his 4 year-old son in 1991.
