Too Many Thoughts

Yet another temp mix. Probably the last one for a while, as this will round out the four-song EP we're setting up.Too Many Thoughts is like a companion piece to Long Time Comin' in that it studies an imaginary character, though it relates her story second hand. Again, the goal wasn't to judge, but just to tell her story in her own words.This song started with the chorus already in my head, and the subject came as I wrote it. I interpret it as meaning intentions and regrets... as wanting to do more with your time than you've ended up doing, and feeling like all of your potential is escaping you as you continue to live in a straight line. Of course, that's just my interpretation. I feel like the listener always defines the song in the long run.I'm the sort of guy who spreads himself too thin, so this song has a lot of personal resonance with me. Maybe you'll relate.
