My Band, Looking Pretty

Posted over 4 years ago
We decided that we need press kit photos that actually show our faces, so we went out an mugged for the camera a few weeks ago. Here are a few of the keepers. Look at how we squint with authority! It was ridiculously bright out. Really hard to hold one's eyes open for more than a few seconds. It had been overcast all week prior, too. Despite it all, I think they're nice. Certainly good enough for our purposes.

  1. darmuzz says That top pic is excellent. It certainly makes a difference to me what a band looks like - do they create or follow trends, clearly identify with a genre, try to look like their influences, etc. I have no idea what kind of music you do, but from the band's look, I would guess some combination of alt-country and classic rock. Am I close?

  2. Chaos Cowboy says Yeah, pretty much. There's a strong metal/punk undercurrent of energy too, but definitely mostly of classic rock/alt-country. (I hate the term "classic rock," though. It always makes me think of the 70s bloat rock that I can't stand.) I guess they do their job, then, huh? That's great! Thanks.

  3. darmuzz says I meant no offense with the classic rock label. To me that means rock with traditional influences, like, say, Audioslave or Velvet Revolver.

  4. Chaos Cowboy says Oh gosh, none taken! It's just a hang-up of mine. For some reason it has bad connotations to me. I think it's because the "classic rock" station in my home town played terrible music, and now when I hear classic rock I think Journey, Boston, and Rush.
