WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Aaah Kevin

Posted over 3 years ago
Aaah Kevin Cronin, lead singer of the 70's power-band REO Speedwagon (who, by the way, still raawwwk!). Perhaps the geekiest guy to ever front a rock band. I mean, c'mon now. Look at the poor guy. And yet....I had the hugest, fattest crush on the man. Sure, I was a teen, well not even a teen, more a pre-teen. He must have seemed someone who might actually have said yes, being, well, lets face it, not the looker himself. Nor is that the geekiest pic I could have used, I was simply hoping to save myself obvious ridicule.I suppose I saw guys like Springsteen (of whom, oh my god, the less said of my obsession the better) and thought I could never reach that pinnacle of beauty. I looked at Kevin, and, after snickering, saw a mirror really. Here too was a creative geek who didn't care who saw him dance around like an idiot. A guy who's talents weren't perfect but who gave 100% anyway. I admired him. Still do. So laugh all you want at my REO/Kevin Cronin obsession, at least I didn't swoon for...oh say....David Lee Roth *shudder*

  2. phantom says I don’t know a lot about Kevin Cronin other than the fact I like REO they weren't a bad band. However I do now a lot about the guitar player (Dave Amato) from REO a very talented guy. I seen a video once with him and Eric Clapton on stage together the were amazing, and then Les Paul came out on stage a blew them both away that’s right blew them away, I believe THIS is what I seen. Anyway I don’t know if you know but Dave Amato at one time played with Ted Nugent and Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora so when REO came out they were almost guaranteed to have a reasonable following right from the beginning.
