Addiction and Affliction...

Posted over 5 years ago
To start by saying the very least: this weekend was one of the most amazing weekends ever. Starting with dancing on Friday at the DNA Lounge to Butch Walker at Slims and finishing with AFI in Santa Cruz. I don't think it could have gone any better. The AFI show was awesome. I have seen some of their shows on tv and I have always regarded them as great performers. They did not disappoint in Santa Cruz. (Also, look for my friends Dispute who will be touring with AFI on the European leg of their tour in October.) I have been looking for ward to the Butch concert since I saw him last year. I wasn't even deterred from my happy bubble when a drink was thrown in my face and Jillian and I got into a fight with a whale of a woman. Thanks to Shamu for re-asserting my confidence in my decision not to drink anymore. It may be cheesy and it may be lame but Butch is the man and I get all kinds of giggily when I see him in concert. And the most amazing picture of the evening...But even the good times must be balanced with the bad. Upon my return I learned that my dog is dying. Mr. Hunny Bunny is not long for this world and at first I wasn't too distraught over the whole affair. However, it is starting to hit me that I will be loosing my little brother...and he is suffering. Please keep him in your hearts and remember to raise your glasses to the weirdest plastic bag dog food, chicken foot eating, pit-bull in drag.

  1. Spencer Owen says In my experience, the loss of a pet hits very hard, and then quickly transforms into fond memories. But there's no question you will miss your dog, and with that I empathize. Let's hope his last days are as pleasant for him as they can be.
