I have to admit, I've been fanatical about KOL from the day I first heard them. Chrissie Hynde did a TV show and had them play along with some Pretenders songs. She introduced them as her favorite band today.
Then they played their songs. I was hooked right away. I wanted to hear more.
Their second CD was unbelievably great. But, their third seemed like a slight letdown. It still had some great songs. But they were fewer and farther between.
I couldn't wait to hear the new one. I had read an interview in which they said this was their best. The new CD would contain some of their most beautiful music. I just figured there'd be some barn burners thrown in as well. The anticipation was killing me.
So, now I have it . I don't like it. It's overproduced. The rawness is gone. The vocals are too clean. Is this the direction they intend to continue going in?
Some people on NME's site seem to be concerned about the same thing. I found this on the site.
What do you think? Is this a bad sign that KOL are shooting for becoming the new Foreigner or Asia....when I thought they were shooting for becoming the new Rolling Stones???!!!???

I picked up their first album when everybody was getting wet over them and thought they were pretty good but I never picked up anything else. This song you posted up there, makes me think of Journey circa 1983. Not a bad song but I'm sure that's not what they were going for. Besides I always thought they sounded too polished.
but he sure can't croon as well as steve perry. jk, i never got into this band but thought the song was alright enough.
