My son has athletics club once a week. It's important that you know why I was actually out of the house for an extended period of time, since it happens so infrequently. I stay there with him, just in case he needs me, because he isn't used to being out on his own yet; four years of dealing with Asperger's has us both a bit cautious. I was sat in the bleachers listening to my ipod, and he was down on the track, practicing hurdles with the other kids. It's a brand new track and field. Looks fabulous. I'd just downloaded music from emusic earlier in the day, and was listening to it as I watched him. Explosions in the Sky came on as I was scanning the sky, looking for any sign that it may rain. But it was a gorgeous evening. The music fit what I was seeing around me. Big puffy clouds, white on top and grey on the bottom, in a blue sky, the green rolling moors dotted with shadows and sheep all around us, the tower of a village church off to one side. I got a little teary, I have to say. Could there be anywhere better? This is the song I was listening to whilst I looked out over those fields. At that point in time it fit so perfectly, and I will always connect this song to thoughts of the northern English countryside. Back to my seclusion now. Enjoy.
