Usually I'm happy with one cool vintage synth sound but this track makes me happy about seven times over. There's not many lyrics, but the title is a good one. Plus: It grooves along nicely. Listen and download: http://CORNx2.us/~53unz
This atmospheric acoustic guitar track has an intimate feel without getting claustrophobic. The doubled vocal reminds me of Syd Barrett despite not if that's a technique that Syd Barrett actually used, but the comparison also fits the time period regardless.Listen and download: http://cornx2.us/~463n8
The Acorn cultivates a lush and mellow vibe that doesn't always grab my ear. This track, however starts right off with a great melodic vocal hook and tribal rhythm that sustains the excitement level throughout. The sound reminds me of Poi Dog Pondering and the Talking Heads 'Naked' album.Listen and download: http://cornx2.us/~03ms6
With a sound reminiscent of the Electrified album from Dressy Bessy, this song attempts to be a little more serious lyrically but a verse like, "Like acid rain / Inside my brain / They leave a stain / Makes me insane" keeps it from being anything but a fun pop song. Not that there's anything wrong with that.Listen and download: http://cornx2.us/~tnbgg
Has there been a surf band with a singer since the late 60s? This is a great high-energy track off of a solid EP and captures the authentic garage-y atmosphere and sound to satisfy your surf rock cravings. Not that you knew you had any.Listen and download: http://cornx2.us/~mb2a5
This seven minute opus is cobbled together from two classic-era video games and is disguised as a prog rock instrumental. It's broken up into movements even, pulling in themes from different parts of their respective game sources. A compelling listen for gamers and non-gamers alike.Listen and download: http://cornx2.us/~rjv6s
