Wow, Warped Tour was unbelieveble. 95 degrees the whole day, bright sunshine, and the full experience.

We started off with The Spill Canvas as we waited for Drop Dead Gorgeous. My best friend and pit wingman and I were sure there would be a sick mosh pit for DDG, and sure enough there was. The hardcore dancers were out in full and very angry. Those kids were not moshing to have fun, there were there to hurt people and let loose their anger. This was supported by the number of flat out fights I witnessed later from the edge. But anyways, as soon as it started my buddy and I pushed our way into the fray. It couldn't have been 10 seconds before I caught a fist clean on the chin. It was like slow motion Rocky Balboa style. Still in the middle of the pit, bouncing around, I look down at my arm and spray blood aeverywhere. It was at this time my friend insisted we leave, it was madness. It turned out my jaw was dislocated and fractured. Maybe an our later I popped it back into place, and the next day I got x-rays and had a dentist. Thankfully, where the fracture is, it was not displaced, so I don't need to be wired shut.

Even though this was the beginning of the day, I was not done. We saw Circa Survive. After that, Chris (my best friend) and I had front row for Cinematic Sunrise, which was just too awesome. Craig Owens was amazing, singing right over us. He is a Man-God. And the music was wonderful. It seemed it would be the highlight of the day.

We then saw New Found Glory, which I love, from a far. And they were fun as always. We then suffered through Cute Is What We Aim For so we would have good spots for Chiodos. In the process, while waiting, there was this drunk girl with her friends behind us who kept groping. I kept nudging her away, and then she kissed me. I freaked and pushed her away, I am a clean freak and strange drunk girls certainly aren't clean. We ended up being Front and center. And The pit was one of the most insane things, just HUGE. And Chris, poor guy, got vomited on! By some dehydrated guy! And Chris didn't do to well after that, he had to get the hell out. Craig Owens got his shirt ripped off by fans and was genuinely pissed, it kind of ruined the mood. But the show was sick.

We then had a lull in the action so we saw a few other bands. We were waiting for UnderOATH. We were quite beat by this time, and weren't sure about moshing. As we were waiting for Straylight Run, who were on just before UnderOATH, I realized that we could get the railing and never move, and keep it for UnderOATH. So I insisted we did.

Straylight Run was beautiful, nearly as good as our experience with Cinematic Sunrise. But then, it was time for UnderOATH. And let me tell you, it was the single greatest concert experiences ever. I mean, FRONT ROW CENTER. THe mosh pit was just ludacris, insane behind us. Bodies were flying over our heads like nuts. Spencer came down and climbed the rail right by us. It was epic. And the pit was just one of the greatest ones I have been in, Chris and I lost our voices, and nearly climbed over the rail as we screamed the lyrics. I fucking love UnderOATH and cannot wait to see them in October.

So Between Chris and I, we had the full experience of Warped Tour. I fractured my jaw in a pit, 95 degree weather, I was molested by a drunk girl, Chris got vomited on, UnderOATH. I love it.

I find myself more attracted to music with mature content and lyrics rather than catchy pop crap such as Panic! At The Disco. I am blown away by the transformation of Brand New from a moderately pop catchy band with their first CD "Your Favorite Weapon" to an intensely lyrically heavy and dark mature band that rocks. I think the fact that the masses are less mature and gravitate to immature music is the reason Brand New has not become as big as Fall Out Boy. Manchester Orchestra blows me away with their amazingly mature lyrics. It is true poetry. And it is hard to believe they average an age of 19. I am proud that there are smart people my age in the music business capable of writing such amazing words. Dashboard is another. Dashboard is a little more popular, since some of their music is a little poppy and less mature, focusing more on catchy lyrics rather than meaningful and deep lyrics. But much of it is very mature and deep, and I doubt many see this and can appriciate it. Otherwise, Dashboard would be one of the biggest bands of all time. Chris Carraba's writing is amazing. I truly connect on every level. That's how I feel about music these days. Fall Out Boy, Cute Is What We Aim For, Panic! At The Disco, all find their success with catchy wrd play and rhyming, rather than with substance. And the truly gifted bands with deep lyrics find less success, as the masses are not mature enough to appriciate it. But I don't suppose a 14 year old could grasp the idea of "Play Crack The Sky" by Brand New. I guess they are a victim of their own greatness. Oh well, Brand New will always have a cult following of diehard and educated fans.

okay to start off, i agree with you completely. brand new is just so, deep. ha, and as im typing this im listening to Sowing Season, go figure. anywho, once again, i concur. now on to some reggie, im a diehard fan who sadly isnt allowed to see any concerts, ugh. but oh well, i listen to him everyday, so somehow that makes up for it. :p. but a song that i reccomend would have to be "What The Hell Is Contempt" off of Songs Not to Get Married to. There are a lot more, but this is a gooden. i would say "ya dig?" but im bored with it already.

i am very jealous right now. but i do believe i read about that concert somewhere, i forget, and i was like, wow, that had to be a long venue. ha. i was hoping to see Reggie on the warped tour, but I'm pretty sure he's not on it this year. bummer. and yes, Jesse Lacey is God. I'm pretty sure i wrote that all over my planner from this school year. what a nerd i am

that just so happens to be one of my favorite songs from Deja Entendu. I sing it all the time, my friends have to be annoyed, haha. I'm hoping to get a tattoo of an anchor.. nothing too much to do with Brand New, I just love anchors. haha
