Live Performance.

I had the good fortune of being able to see Cohen live this past summer in Lucca, Italy. The venue was fantastic, a crowd of around 200 people gathered to witness a concert in Cohen's first world tour in 15 years. At 73, he played for around 3 hours, and every song appeared to be fantastic. He had a cheeky little grin that let the audience know he was enjoying our company, and played with a magical quality that made the concert sound better, way better than the studio recordings.

I know it's a sin to be envious, but I'll sin shamelessly. What a wonderful opportuity to hear a great singer. What a shame, like Billy Joel and others, he has to perform out of necessity and not desire.
