Ok, so I've only now just gotten back from what could have been the most amazing live show of my entire lifetime. Automusik and MC Chris.
MC Chris is a self-proclaimed nerd and rapper, and he makes it ok for white people to listen to hip-hop again. It's positively amazing. He has no label, no recording contract, most of what he makes he gets from meager record/merch sales from a massive fan base. And he bitches about it constantly. Some of you may know him as MC PeePants from Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Hesh from Sealab 2021. His onstage persona is like a cross between Lewis Black and Dave Chappelle, only he bitches about video games and praises marijuana. And sounds like a 10-year old. Weird. Just weird. But amazing all the same. Electronica band out of Austin, but may live in Memphis. Very reminiscent of 80s bands like Devo...only much weirder. Much...preachier...if you can call it that They have a very odd fascination with robots and their music is mostly spoken word with a German accent. It's very humorous. They had a TV to accompany the show with animated pictures and words. It actually was quite a spectacular indictment of modern culture.
