Wolf Zeppelin.

I went to a Wolfmother show last week. Actually, I was practically forced to go. It's not that I don't find their music...entertaining. It was simply the fact that going to this show was the closest I would ever get to seeing Led Zeppelin live in concert. So, it wasn't that bad.Overall, it was exactly like listening to two hours of Led Zeppelin on repeat, stuff I'd never heard, stuff that had never been released, maybe ten years down the road if they'd gotten a chance to be influenced by the punka of the 80s. Or even heavy metal. The music started to grate on my brain because every time they'd start another song I would screw up my face and think to myself "What the fuck...did they not just play this song 20 minutes ago?" But I was being serious, it wasn't a sarcastic zing mocking the similar sound of every song they have, but rather an honest query. "Seriously, are they just playing the same song?"So by the end of the show I was so fucking pissed off that I just wanted to stab somebody in the back of the head.Anyway, here's the point. Wolfmother sucks.Yep.

    haggardpilot says I don't know what the deal is all of a sudden. everyone suddenly has all these intense opinions about Wolfmother. it's either "Wolfmother fucking sucks" or "man Wolfmother are the best EVER!" I never hear any "they are ok". I don't know why everyone is so up-in-arms lately.

    squirpy says I agree that Wolfmother's sound is anything but original, but I disagree that Zeppelin is the 60s metal band that they sound most like. I definitely would describe it as mostly Deep Purple with a bit of Black Sabbath (mostly because of vocals) thrown in. I also think that at a few parts on their album sound a bit jam-bandish, albeit a rockin' jam band like say, Widespread Panic.....

    Nixne Svix says Take off that crappy wool skull cap , clean out your ears and actually look into bands of the 70's and you will see that WM is more unlike Zeppelin than like. If you ask me they are more an Atomic Rooster, Styx or even Rush style band. And in case you didnt notice....Zeppelin didnt use keyboards(except on occasion). And it would be a compliment to me , if you said my three piece sounded like the original FOUR piece LED FUCKING ZEPPELIN. I am glad I wont see you at their shows(yep i have seen em too). Hippie skippy..............
