SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

Klaus Nomi - Lightning Strikes

Posted about 1 year ago

This track was originally recorded by Lou Christie, who was sometimes denigrated as a Frankie Valli knock-off, but was quite wonderful in his own right, showing a cheeky sense of humor that gave the Four Seasons a run for their money. Later, Klaus Nomi took it on. Nomi was a brief hallucination some shared in the mid-80s. He took a better than decent album cover photo, sang in an impeccable soprano, loved making cookies for his friends, and died young of AIDS. He was a shy and awkward German lad who found a persona behind which he could bloom.

This version of the song is really great.

It is a shame the artist passed away. He has real talent. I will look up more of his songs.

Thank you for sharing with us.
