By the way, did anyone mention that Wall St. is on the verge of a complete breakdown? No? Well, in the meantime, enjoy all the recent comedy premised on "Working For Sub-Wage Wages Is A Goddamned Laugh Riot," (copyright, The Hilarious Guys who created "The Office.")

He has already apologized for wanting to do this. Jackson voiced his figurative surgical ambitions in the wake of inflammatory remarks made by Obama to the effect that "fathers should be around to help raise their kids."
I had to check three media sources before I found out what Jackson actually said. Because of this widespread and self-imposed censorship, I assumed Jackson had uttered the dreaded "Fourteenth Letter of The Alphabet" -Word.
I guess when all is said and done, he DID use a "Fourteenth Letter of The Alphabet" -Word.

Very sour news to wake up too this morning, I must say. I can't for the life of me begin to understand why the mind of Jesse Jackson would take Barrack's very general bit on fatherhood and twist it to not only single out the black community, but turn it into an offense as well. There seems to be a pre-conceived notion in his mind that fatherless households are a decidedly black phenomenom, which is neither statistically nor proportionally the case. You'd think he'd understand by now that this type of one-track thinking is what kept him from being seriously percieved as a candidate for the presidency himself back when he ran his sham of campaign in '84 and '88.
I wish that just for once he'd let facts shape his opinions...
I think you nailed it, Steve. It's a generational thing, but even more it's a power thing. That said, I do suspect that there may be a hidden agenda in Obama's remarks - it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he wanted to send a message to the white electorate that he would not automatically be an apologist for what they perceive as black issues - though misguidedly so, as LazerGun Carrier astutely points out....

What? The abstinence education didn't work? I'm shocked!
"Well kids, I'd like to tell you about the birds and the bee's but aparently some of your parents have forgotten what it was like being a teenager and being ruled by your hormones, and are uncomfortable with me offering you a forum in which to learn about your bodies...so let's just keep it in your pants!"
Oh wow, this semi ironic post about teen pregnancy was the most awesome thing I've read on this site yet! Can you write more of this crap please? Lots of love, Evol Kween.
"Semi-ironic?" I'm laughing all the way to the bank collapse:
"Regulators seize troubled IndyMac: Feds take over mortgage lender IndyMac. FDIC will seek buyer. May become most expensive bank collapse ever."
