Yael Naim

Soooo, when I picked up Gnarls Barkley, I also picked up Yael Naim. She has that song New Soul that's featured on a commercial. I can't remember which one. I love the songs that are in English. I was gonna wait to write about it......but as I was scanning the tracks, I saw a song called Toxic. Wait a minute...no it can't be...Tell me what you think...:)

Gnarls Barkley

Okay, so I just finished listening to a couple of tracks from The Odd Couple. It's pretty good. When I heard the tracks, I immediately thought of the Beatles..I dunno. Anyhow, I definitely like it better than the first CD. Go Gnarls!!!

Day 26

I couldn't wait to finish my morning chores, so that I could tell everyone about Day 26's self titled album. I absolutely love it. It's sort of reminiscent of 112. And I loved their first CD. It's one of those Cd's that you can listen to from beginning to end on repeat. It's worth spending your $10 - $12. Can I say I love it again? Wow!!!

Luv me some Anita....

Today I was feeling kinda nostalgic for simpler times.. So I dug into my repertoir and came out with Anita Baker. The first time I heard Rapture, I think I was in the second grade. I have memories of my mom, aunts, and their friends with the puffy hair, drinks in one hand and a microphone (usually a brush..lol) in their other hand singing and dancing. The good ole days!!!! (Does anyone else remember those big curtis mathis tv's with the record player on top? lol)

Danity Kane

I just got my hands on Danity Kane's Welcome to the Dollhouse. It's really not that bad. I actually like it a lot better than their first album. New sounds and new topics. It consists of dance, hiphop, r&b and pop. My favorite tracks are Bad Girl (of course lol), Is Anybody Listening, and Ecstasy. Damaged is pretty cool too.

Gettin Back Into the Groove

Well, I've been so busy I haven't had time to mog as much as I would have liked. So, since I've been gone I have a lot to get off my chest!! I was watching the Pepsi Smash cover art clips and I saw some really interesting performances. The first performance I would like to talk about is TPain. For all of you that don't know who is TPain is. He's a rapper/singer from Tallahassee, FL. He had that hit song, I'm in love with a stripper. He did a cover of Gavin DeGraw's "I don't want to be" I would have never thought of this combo. I give him much props for that endeavor. I think he did a great job. He looked weird, but I enjoyed it.
Bowling for Soup did a cover of Fergie's London Bridge. I am now a fan! They are so hilarious! That was an enjoyable performance. Ray Jay performed "Clocks" by Coldplay. Another enjoyable performance I didn't know he had in him. Now the killer...Switchfoot performed Beyonce's "Crazy in Love". I'm still on the wall with that one.
Speaking of Beyonce...if I ever thought that seeing a video didn't make a difference on whether or not u like a song, Beyonce has proved me wrong. When I first heard Beyonce's CD, I can say that Upgrade U, Ring the Alarm and Irreplacable were my favorite songs and the only ones that liked on the CD. Now she has put out a deluxe edition of the CD and has four new videos. And that's all I've seen on video channels for the past four days....Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. After seeing those videos over and over again, I've found myself going back to the CD and listening to Suga Mama, Green Light, Get Me Bodied and Freakum Dress and I actually kind of like them now. She definitely knew what she was doing!!
Now I save the best for last. Trey Songz!!! I'm so in love...:) He has this new song Wonder Woman and just put out a mix tape In My Mind and video for Wonder Woman. This song (Wonder Woman) is so infectious and I love it. I've been listening to it over and over since I copped it yesterday.
Now that's a load off my chest. Peace!!

Mos Def

I'm sitting here listening to the latest Mos Def CD and I'm blown away. It is so refreshing to hear a hip hop album that has substance and is not just about money and cars. I applaud him for this one.

Since I'm new here I just wanted to say that I'm glad that I found this site. I'm in love with just about every genre of music. I'm looking forward to being introduced to new and different artists and their music. I'll start this thing off by saying that Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands of all times. The fact that they intermix so many different sounds made me fall head over heels. They definitely rock!!!!
