Weekend Concerts, Part 1
I saw Muse at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York last Thursday, and it was one of the more amazing concerts I've seen in my life. The sound was probably the best I've heard at Hammerstein; Muse's crew had it beautifully set up. When they played, Muse put on a really good show, especially their singer/guitarist/pianist, Matt Bellamy, who is possibly insane. The band put a huge amount of passion into the show, something I think everyone in the audience recognized, based on how into it everyone was. They played a mix of songs from their four albums, focusing on Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations, with only about four songs from their first two albums, which makes sense considering they weren't released in America. Revelations is my favorite CD of theirs yet, and I was happy to hear so much from the album. The encore especially blew me away, when they ended with "Time Is Running Out" and "Knights of Cydonia." A great end to an excellent hour and a half of music.
