WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

The funkiest song ever!

Posted over 3 years ago
Here's another band that doesn't seem to get the attention they deserve, if you ask for my opinion (and I'm sure you didn't...but I feel the need to share anyway!). After they kicked out the girl singer (I can't think of her name at the moment...Kelli something....), they lost all commercial attention. However, their music stayed great, and I like the guy singer even more (Chris...something...wow...I'm bad with names!). I saw their show in Atlanta a couple years back and it was great, but poorly attended, sadly enough. Chris...whatever his last name is....was a great front man and has a very Bowie-like quality to his voice and demeanor. Anyway, "Sick", from their cd "Bloodsport", has got to be one of the funkiest songs ever. Ok, I realize it's not James Brown funky, but...you know what I mean. The beat, the acoustic guitar riff, the bass line....the perverted lyrics....it's a really great song and you should check it out.

  1. Hattie says Hey, funky is what it is. There are no boundaries on funk. I wondered what ever came of the Sneaker Pimps. Thanks for that update. Peace, Hat

  2. chucky says See, I didn't know the Sneaker Pimps were still around - much less, that they dumped the girl. Thanks for letting us know. :)

  4. Brett Schieber says Thanks! I'm glad that maybe a few people heard this great song. Thanks for reminding me of Kelli Ali's name (the former singer). Chris Corner (the current singer) is the other name I couldn't think of. Kelli has a couple solo cds, but I haven't heard either of them. I Am X is the solo name that Chris Corner goes under and he's put out 2 cds. I've only heard the first one and I like it, but not as much as "Bloodsport". Anyway.....thanks!

  5. Anna says You are welcome. Also, I have a friend who djs at a bar (yes, in Greece we sometimes have djs at bars) & he plays mostly funk; I'm fairly certain that he will dig this & play it in your honour. Thanx :D
