My Favorite Ultra-Literate Canadian Indie Band

is obviously The Weakerthans. And I've been waiting for what feels like ages for new music to satisfy my addiction. Finally, it's here! The band's new single, Civil Twilight, was released just the other day and I couldn't be more thrilled! It's a little bit more upbeat and pop-rocky than their usual fare but in no way is that a bad thing. For starters, it's catchy as hell (in a good way) and John K. Samson can do no wrong, as far as I'm concerned. To make matters even more delicious, I just got tickets to see them at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston in November! Lately, The Weakerthans rarely venture out of Canada and it seems like when they do, they seldom tour the Northeast. So, basically, I'm pumped. If you're a Weakerthans virgin, I suggest you check out the following tracks. You won't regret it:"My Favourite Chords" (from the album Left & Leaving)"This Is A Fire Door Never Leave Open" (from Left & Leaving)"Reconstruction Site" (from Reconstruction Site)"Psalm for the Elks Lodge Last Call" (from Reconstruction Site)www.myspace.com/theweakerthanswww.theweakerthans.org
