AMP, LA and More records

We just returned from from playing a show at the Alexandria Music Project. I'm really excited about it because I think there should be more things like this. As much as we have traveled, I've never seen anything like it. It's pretty much a membership to a series of concerts, kind of like season tickets. All the details are online - it's a cool thing run by some great people.

Got a few new records, check my list over there <------. The Martin Denny collection had a major windfall with the acquisition of "Exotic Moog." I probably paid too much, but I needed it. Knowwhattamean? Also, I've been looking for Air "10,000 hz Legend" for awhile. Woohoo! It sounds marvelous.

Shake your wax thang.

We played a show last night with a band that you will undoubtedly be hearing alot about in the next year. They are from Kentucky and they are called Wax Fang. After playing with us here in Murfreesboro, they are taking off to go on tour with My Morning Jacket which will include a show at the Ryman. How cool is that?

Mail order Martin Denny

So I got a nice little media mail package today with 5 Martin Denny records in it.
First off, the seller packaged them very nicely - all removed from sleeves and stuff. He also had the sense of humor to bookend the records with other record covers such as a signed copy of "the solo artistry of Robert Hale and Dean Wilder - Songs of Devotion and Praise." Yes, I said 'signed.'

I thought I was going to have a duplicate copy of Quiet Village, but the one I got in the mail is in stereo. Now I have both mono and stereo versions.
Muhahaha - suck it hipsters!

Please let this NOT be the beginning of an obscure collecting fetish.

I like my tangible mediums

I've heard about this MOG thingy, and now I'm in. What I need in my life is another something to keep updated. Unfortunately, this may not work to good for me, since I listen to vinyl almost exclusively at home. I guess it may read iPod playcounts - anyone know? Alrighty then - welcome to me. Bod Teen requires it!

By the way, I have recently rediscovered Manassas. I just bought the second record "Down the Road" this week and have listened to it 3 times now. It's like "Manassas" but condensed to all the more groovy parts. Dig?
