MOG MOG

WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Artist:

Hey, all you Regina Spektor fans out there!

I'm willing to give this chick a try, but I don't want to get all off on the wrong track (no pun intended) and listen to something that's not that great and then not like her.

So, if you're a RS fan, what's the best album?

Also, what are the best tracks off of any album?

I like Begin to Hope better than Soviet Kitsch. Off that, I'd go with Fidelity, Samson, Apres Moi, and Dusseldorf.

Ode to Divorce from Soviet Kitsch is awesome, too.

I like Post Modern Girls, which is a Strokes and Regina Spektor track. Let me know if you can't find it and i'll send it to ya.

AA hipped me to her a while back, suggested Begin To Hope.

Haven't heard any of her other albums, but I like this one.

Hmm. Guess I'm muddying the waters but I liked Soviet Kitsch better. Off that I would recommend Your Honor, Carbon Monoxide, Ode to Divorce, and Poor Little Ritch Boy (in that order.)

Off Begin to Hope I only have Fidelity, That Time, and Edit - all of which are good. Fidelity is the most listener friendly song and not as interesting as the others though.

Now, is it me, or has she basically stolen Fiona Apple's mojo?

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I like Fiona Apple's mojo. But they sound really similar.

I never listened to enough Fiona to really say. Regina Spektor is very creative with her voice and I never got that (at least not to the same degree) from what I heard of Fiona.
