I was very impressed by "And Their Refinement...", an ambient, non-vocal contemplative piece, and thought it one of the best records of 2007. Caught their SF gig; they performed with a string trio and pulled off a moving live performance of difficult but beautiful music. In part, their music reminded me of Gorecki's String Quartet, long unison lines, lovely harmony. The joint was packed, with almost no advance publicity. Other reference points; Eno, and another very obscure guy who records as Eluvium. No beats, no voices and not everyone's cup of tea, but really lovely. If you get a chance, catch them or look up what's available on Kranky, their label.BerkBob
