Probably many of you are not familiar with Jon Hassell. His new CD on ECM is his first release in many years. He is not a kid, about the same age as Leonard Cohen. He is a relentlless experimenter and one of the few trumpet players to work outside of the massive influence of Miles. I suspect Headphone Commuter will like this. It is beautifully recorded, instrumental with some electronica and worth seeking out. I like it as much as Earthquake Island, recorded some 30 years ago, and better than his collaborations with Brian Eno.
