...does not mean that I like "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits any more. If I had to choose a Dire Straits song that I loved the most it would be, without question, "Down to the Waterline".
This song was on the first track on the self titled Dire Straits album that I heard in my youth, in the late hours, on our stereo the day my step-dad bought the brand new LP and brought it home.
That song is one complete example of some great guitar work as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention what an awesome way to start off an album.
So, thanks for thinking of me and sending me a link to the "Brothers in Arms" video today (you know who you are), but just because my spouse is a vet, send me a song that REALLY means something to me next time.
Sometimes I just don't like the blatantly obvious sentiment, that's all.
"No money in our jackets and our jeans are torn; Your hands are cold but your lips are warm"

Great song and awesome guitar work. Have you checked out Mark Knopfler's recent solo work- the hands are still as good as ever and his voice has aged beautifully
