All safe at the Casa
Well its Friday Night and We are back open, we actually opened last night, but with only half the staff, many not home from "home" on the mainland. The storm, while scary as hell, was sparing with us here on Ambergris Caye. The wind was soooo loud where we stayed, a luxury suite at Victoria House--that each time it blew hard, I imagined my roof peeling off. But in the morning, I worked up the courage to take the drive over, and when I got there: Well, I cried out loud and called my general contractor Lucas Bennett, who just a couple of months ago installed our back patio, and said (and I quote) I just called to say I love you! No major damages, one piece of roofing pulled back, lots of water i the restaurant, but nothing permanent! I manouvered through the downed trees and powerlines and sang the sweet victory song to Jennifer dancing and smiling that all seemed OK. The power was out for a while (two days, roughly) so music was limited to what I had on drives, and that was limited to what the laptop had juice to play. All is well, we're open again, the house is a fortress, life is G O O D !If you check this site because you know us here at the restaurant, I hope we see you soon!Pics here: "http://tacogirlblog.blogspot.com/"
