In response to "Full Throttle Cottle's post":http://mog.com/Adam_Cottle/blog_post/7769 I would like to mention Van Hunt's super-duper-criminally-slept-on debut. I was working in the commuter cafeteria at school when a co-worker, Alex, introduced it to me. Alex and I shared a love of deep soul and a hatred for customer service - he was the only person that made that job bearable. He slipped me a copy of the "Van Hunt" album, which he had been talking up for weeks and needless to say, it was mindblowing. Somewhere between Prince and Sly, with a touch of Gamble and Huff, this album is damn near close to perfect - summer super-jams if there ever were. All that being said, "On the Jungle Floor" is even better. Do yourself a favor and buy some Van Hunt records.
