A repost from our pals over at "Grimey's":http://www.grimeys.com:Hey y'all,Just wanna make sure everyone is hip to some fun stuff going on next week.....In 1969, Vashti Bunyan, with the help of producer Joe Boyd (Nick Drake, Incredible String Band, Toots and the Maytals) recorded Just Another Diamond Day, which is now considered to be one of the top 100 British Albums of all time. She then walked away from the music business and, for the next thirty-years, disappeared into the Scottish country-side to raise her family. Now thanks to the encouragement from fans like David Byrne, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Animal Collective, and Fourtet, Vashti is bringing her sublime music to a handful of lucky cities.Vashti and her backing band and co-headliner Vetiver (Andy Cabic, Otto Hauser of Devendra Banhart’s band) whose record To Find Me Gone inhabited the highest regions of many year-end list get you grooving with the kind of smoky, white soul rivaling JJ Cale.Vashti Bunyan and Vetiver play The Mercy Lounge on Wednesday, February 7.For a chance to win a pair of tickets and a limited-edition, hand-made concert poster made by Nashville’s very own Isle of Printing and signed by Vashti and Vetiver. Come around Grimey’s and drop your name in a hat or something that suffices for the mystery and suspense that a hat provides. We'll be selecting a winner next Tuesday!xoxo,The Grimey's Staff
