Cuban funk by some true veterans

Posted over 3 years ago

Orquestre Riverside were formed in 1938, and were still playing (perhaps not with the original members) in the 1990s, when this tune was recorded for EGREM. It was written by Luis Toca Valdes, and shows their funk and their horns

You know Baudolino,  until I "met" you,  i considered myself fairly well versed in music.  But you (and Ivylander) have expanded my horizons so much.  Its humbling & exhilerating to see how much there is to explore. And you're a great guide.

I like this track,  its infectious,  with killer horns.

In reality, I am merely a scratcher of the surface of the wide world of music - there are hundreds of areas in which I am less than a novice

My friend,  we are all riders on the storm.  I think we are all amazed amused bewildered and confused.  We are all humbled, I think, to learn how much there is to know, and what a pitifully miniscule chunck of knowledge we each possess.

Very nice.  Reminds me of Ruben Blades, though I suppose I've just exposed my own musical ignorance (in keeping with DMDM's theme).

    Thanks.
