SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

Norman the Gambler

Posted about 1 year ago

Norman Elliott from Bull Bay Jamaica was the brother of Desmond Elliott of the Jamaican Broadcasting Corporation. He drove a Rambler, and was always the house master for the card and dominoes games that took place most weekends. Max Romeo was a friend, who played cards with him regularly.

This is the triple length 12" mix released on Black Art - the unhappy domino player at the start of the tune is Jah Lloyd. The deejay who appears about a third of the way through is uncredited, but sounds like either Jah Stittch or U-Brown, although neither of these two was noted for making records with the Upsetter, so it remains a mystery to me

Don't think I want to play cards or dominos with Norman, hate to lose. As ever, a very tasty track. Have a good week end, friend.
