Winston "Killerman" Jarrett was born in St Ann, Jamaica in 1944 and began recording as one of Alton Ellis' backing group the Flames. When Alton moved to the UK in 1969, he took over on lead vocals and renamed the group The Righteous Flames. In the 1970s he cut numerous tracks as a soloist and as leader of the Righteous Flames.
