Happy Birthday to Horace Andy

Posted over 2 years ago

Horace Hinds aka Horace Andy aka "Sleepy" is 59 years old today. as a teenager he cut one flop single in the rocksteady style for Phil Pratt under his real name - "Black Man's Country"

In view of the recent release of "Heligoland", here is the 1977 original of "Girl I Love You", recorded at Channel One on a stripped down cut of the rhythm also recorded as "Deuteronomy" by Sylford Walker and "Give Jah The Glory" by Welton Irie, both released on Glenmore Brown's Pantomine label. This track came out in the Uk on the Chanan-Jah label, oddly better used as a vehicle for Phil Pratt productions, and was backed, as here, by the deejay cut by Ranking Trevor - "Auntie Lulu".

It would be interesting to hear what Masive Attack fans think of this.
