This track by Curtis Mayfield

hasn't been posted on here before. It was a huge success in Jamaica thanks to covers by Junior Murvin and I.Roy, so here it is for your delectation

I thought for sure you were going to post Minstrel & Queen after that write-up.  I heard the Junior Murvin version first, but Mayfield does it much better (as is usually the case with covers, especially reggae)

"Minstrel and Queen" was recorded by the Techniques, Dennis Alcapone, Tommy McCook, the Chosen Few, and U-Roy, as well as being partly used by Bob Marley and Cornel Campbell as part of the lyric of "I'm Still Waiting". I seem to recall that there's an Almax post on here a couple of months back dedicated to that tune

Shit - I am sorry, I confused it with Police & Thieves by Murvin (which I heard before the Clash).  It must be the Techniques version that I am remembering.  Thanks.
