as I'm here much less often, tonight combines Blue Monday and double entendre night, courtesy of six times married Ruth Lee Jones aka Dinah Washington (1924-63), here describing a trip to the dentist thus -

She was so consistently savvy and urbane, especially here. It's hard to find a mediocre recording by her. I read somewhere that Mercury Records refused for the longest time to promote her records beyond the r&b market, and into the jazz market, which was a mistake.
I knew something was missing..nice slight return though. Love it.
