Blue Monday

Posted 2 months ago

In her late sixties heyday, Aretha Franklin wasn't wholly noted for performing "straight" blues, but here she is, from 1969, belting out a remake of "Today I Sing the Blues", a tune she first cut in 1960 with the Ray Bryant Combo. This track doesn't appear to have been posted here before.
