WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Blue Note Monday

Posted 4 months ago

Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers are very under-represented on MOG, so here, released in October 1958, and produced by Rudy van Gelder, is one of their greatest tunes. Written by pianist Bobby Timmons, the others on this session, apart of course from Art B himself on drums are Jymie Merritt on bass, Benny Golson on tenor, and (playing at his absolute peak) the great Lee Morgan on trumpet
