Morgan Heritage are "Down by the River"

Posted 9 months ago

No particular reason for choosing this one tonight, other than that I was listening to it in the car the other day, and it's something of a forgotten gem from eight years or so back. Peter Morgan, in my view, is a massively underrated singer (mind you, my ex-wife hated him). That's probably all the reason I need to post this.

These of you with a keen ear for such things will of course already have spotted that the above track versions "What Kind Of World" by The Cables, recorded at Studio One in 1968, so here is the full length extended mix of that, as released on Heartbeat a few years back

The second time we went to Barbados, Morgan Heritage was the best thing I heard. (Heard it on a bus of course.) Old school with a twist - and what got me was the strength of the voice/s. Good choice.
