The Shape of Music [SoM-0.1]

Artist:
From the sterling sheen of a Stadivarius to the magical wand-like experience of the iPod click-wheel (does anyone still remember that white rubbery thing?), music has always inspired beauty in the design and shape of all things musical. It is as if the aural - and at times oral - experience of music cannot be complete without visual - and at times tactile - realisation.
So I would like to share with you some objects connected with music which I found either aesthetically intriguing, or visually pleasing or even ingeniously mundane.
Let's have a look at an ubiquitous object: the earphones, also called headphones, or earbuds or even skull-candy (®?). And more particularly at the lovely packaging designed by Scholz & Friends for the Panasonic Stereo Earphones RP-HJE 130 called "Note"

Music shapes all things musical and beyond.
To mark this 1st post about the shape of music, I hope you will enjoy Bach's prelude performed by another ingenious Pablo.

Well I'll be damnned...here comes your ghost again. With tunage and observations. Its like i've stepped into a time warp.
Dear Bartleby,
Thank you for reminding me of this wonderful man and great cellist. I have nearly all of his recorded legacy and he is the one who has the heart of music at his fingertips. Who is that? Why Pablo Casals. His style with the playing of these great suites are considered controversial today because they are not played in the correct period instrument way. But the passionate involvement of Casals sweeps awy all such arguments in a heartbeat. They become a spiritually nourishing addition to anyone's life. Thank you for posting!
Yours truly,
musikfriend
This Bartleby cast and now casts a big shadow.
Those are the earphones I use, and their packaging design is wicked awesome, though I keep them in a little black rectangular Griffin zippered pouch. Often I wish they could stay deeper in my ears so I could hear more bass and not have them fall out, but they're way better, in that regard, than Apple earphones.
Casals really knew his stuff, but listeners finicky about avoiding rubato might also be interested in Paul Tortelier or Ralph Kirshbaum.
mmm, mmm...this is a perfect segue from a night of loud and raucous guitars to the period of relaxation. I can't claim familiarity with the names or any more than generalities of the styles within the classical realm, yet the wonderful talent of compostioin and performance speak volumes on their own.
sure is nice to see the resurfacing of a cherished compadre ... it's been rather quiet, you see..
Having never seen these particular earbuds before, It took a few glances for the beauty and elegance of the oversized package to sink in. A series? wondeba!!
Looking forward to next installment!
DMDM: Yep, the corpse is still kicking. Thanks for your visit.
Musikfriend: Thank for your kind note. Pablo Casals is one of those very few can make us feel the sublime.
Spike: Talent does what it wants, genius does what it can. Technique may allow the talented to do what is "good" but it not always easy to follow the spirit of art. As for the earbuds, I've yet to try them on.
Scot: As always, your flattery overwhelms me. I'll try to keep you entertained.
Darm: Thanks for popping in. I will do my best to keep you intrigued.
I have this Rusty Wired Series Hoodie - it has little earbuds in the hood strings that connect to a plug in your pocket. It's pretty nifty.
Hey Honey. So nice of you to pop in. That hoodie looks pretty cool and I'm sure you make it look even cooler ;)
