The Return Of The Funk-Fu Fighters

[Baby Charles - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor / 4:27]

In a time not so far away, two aspiring disciples of Funk-Fu started on a mission to bring ThaFunk to the MOG-world.

Stepping out from the vaults of the Mothership, they used their mixing fists and borrowed others' bombastic booties to bring as many as possible to form One Nation Under A Groove.

Today, the legend of Funk-Fu continues as this grasshopper here wants to take you on the dancefloor. Just follow the ladies.

(Click here to see how funk-fu you look on the dancefloor)

Edit: Bloodtea is also enticing us to party our booty here. -- A second track by Baby Charles can be heard in this comment.

  1. Bartleby says More seriously, Baby Charles is a super hot and groovy combo from Brighton. You can stream their début album on their website: www.babycharles.co.uk -- I recommend checking out "Wasting Time" (I had an invite for their launch party last Friday but couldn't make however if you're in Nanterre outside Paris, make sure to catch them live tonight at "Le Festival des Chorus des Hauts-de-Seine")

  2. bloodtea says Dang! Six booties and a mouthwatering Baby Charles track... Good gravy! There's absolutely no chance those rogue ninjas won't surrender... Well done, and welcome back to the funk-fu scene :)

  4. bloodtea says Hehe, I was checking some funk-fu stuff and then I received the notification of your post (always ahead of me, aye? grrrrrr) - you know, for a minute I thought "yay, I'm going to post it first", but then you had to ruin it all... damn you, brother!! ;-)

  5. Bartleby says Actually, I had to rush things a bit as I won't be able to comment or post much this afternoon. That's why. Don't be too cross with me :p

  7. deadmandeadman says This is all very interesting but,.........I don't dance. (It upsets everyone around me when I do). (They laugh, they point, they nudge each other, they try to take movies) No, I will not dance. But the music's good.

  8. dermahrk says I can take the laughter, but the retching and the recitation of ??"*The horror, the horror!*?? tends to dampen my spirits a bit. Bartleby, I'm thrilled to see you back in action (ass-tion?).

  9. ivylander says Order has clearly been restored to the universe: Funk-Fu has returned. I think we can all breathe a little easier now. Excellent notes - I'm hearing more than a little Afrobeat here, which is always more than welcome.

  10. Bartleby says *Bloodtea*: I'll be sure to check your Funk-Fu grooves as soon as your booty post is on. *DMDM*: You don't have to dance. Looking is enough. *Dermahrk*: Thanks. I'm glad to be back with the booty. If you can't take "the horror," try the cut at the bottom of this comment. *Ivy*: I'm not sure about the universe but the booty-verse is restored indeed. -- More to the point, Baby Charles has got a very Afrobeat-infused brass section, perhaps not so evident in the track below but it is quite sensitive. 18. Bartleby says Yes, it is a cover of the infamous Arctic Monkeys song. (I posted it with a view to lure Anna back on MOG) -- Glad, you like it.

  25. Hermes says The "Baby Charles" of "Baby Charles" was album of the week at Tunes some weeks ago, and I wouldn't be so broke, I would have bought it immediately. One of the comments was: 2008 is the year of Deep Funk. I hope they are right. Very cool, that this music is produced again with its full force.
