  4. bloodtea says Mixing Klimt with the late hours of night is really something.. No wonder you were blushing.. (and I bet you had pleasant dreams too, hah). May I say that total randomness of yours made up a pretty damn cool playlist? Splendid. :)

  7. ivylander says So you're not a keep-the-lights-on-babe kind of guy? I wouldn't have figured you for one, anyhow.... Mr. Beck can truly make a guitar sound like anything he chooses. Of all his peers, I believe he's the only one you can say taht about...

  8. Bartleby says *RGM*: Glad I can return some of the aural enjoyment you gave me with Chick Corea. *FastR*: It's nice of you to say so. It was yet another sleepless but lovely night. (Perhaps a bit nippy too) *Zeppo*: It wasnt' my intention to hit you but a bit of roughness does it for me too. Thanks for popping in. *BloodT*: The Klimt sketch comes from a restropective of his erotic studies and other (rather explicit) miscellany I saw in Paris a couple of years ago. Though it was a saturating experience, I must say it raises some questions about the relation between an artist and their models. Especially in regards to art as an activity of a satiated man. -- My night was dreamless, sadly. *Auggie*: Glad Nadia's sensuality spoke to you too. *Cody*: This post was really about passing time really more than the waterfront ;) *Ivy*: I'm a very coy boy, you know. Besides, I think Stendhal would have approved of hiding the red (of our cheeks - no pun intended) under the cover of the black (of the night). -- You're very right about Mr Beck's making his guitar singing in many voicesm here's the original by Nitin (courtesy of Fistul')

  9. TylerDurden says M--> wicked post. sounded like his guitar was having some sort of intercourse, and Jeff was the one tickling her g-string!

  10. poebegone says i've always loved that cut from Beyond Skin (pun intended) and the combination with a fine piece of Klimt takes it to an even higher plane. Nadia offers a lot of hiding places, for blushing and what not, as does the fetching playlist.

  11. HelenMarie says Very nice track, drawing and play list. Apologies for the boring comment, but thought I'd say I enjoyed it at least. : )

  12. Dzendvokh says Great Track Michael, Beck comes really close to sounding Indian..... the violinist Shankar comes to mind or the electric mandolin player U.Srinivas. He still retains enough Western sensibility though.... really interesting. Thanks for the track, and nice lookin play list

  14. bloodtea says (You lucky.. bastard!!!) . I truly believe his relationships were a bit beyond the artist/model intimacy.. I simply can't help thinking of him as a genius who beautifully made that lewd mind of his an open book. Oh well.. __All art is erotic__, like Adolf Loos would say (I bet if he was acquainted with Egon Schiele by the time he wrote __Ornament and Crime__, Klimt and Werkstätte wouldn't be severely criticised as __erotic polluters__). Klimt wouldn't be Klimt without that erotism and a bit of decay (that consequently follows it); his work wouldn't have that __je ne sais quoi__ that makes you fall in love with it at first sight; and he wouldn't even become a painter in the first place, at least of such greatness. Please allow me to paste here this (as an attempt to colour your dreamless sad nights): ^"__Bare naked woman sitting with eyes closed__" (1913)^ ^"__Water serpents I__" (1904-07)^ . As for Jeff Beck... I'm completely speechless, and sort of feel like I've totally neglected him (that's what happens when I start blabbering around about paintings and stuff).

  16. Augusts1 says Please, no "Auggie", thanks. Doesn't suit me, it's too cutesy. Aug is fine if you want to shorten my name. No offense taken, just letting you know B. Cheers!

  17. Bartleby says Thank you everyone for your kind and positive feedback. *Tyler*: I really like your metaphore... g-sting and c chords. *BloodT*: The exhibition showed over 150 erotic sketches by Klimt. Works which were not meant for any galleries or museums. As I said, it was a bit too much. There were some very crude details of female intimacy which I guess would please more than one nocturnal polluters. - Jeff is just one of those brilliant guitarists that move me to tears with their intransigent approach to music. - Muito obrigado for these colourful serpents and maidens. *MM*: Sorry I didn't elaborate as inspiringly as you would have on this one. Glad you liked Nadia though. *Aug*: I've taken your comments on board. Thanks for popping in so often.

  19. Bartleby says So sorry, just realised I forgot to thank some of you up there *Poe*: Thank you for your kind comments. The playlist was perhaps not so random after all. *Sunny*: Who needs words when you've got the music. *Dzen*: Jeff does manage to sound almost like anything he chooses too. The man is monster. *FastR*: I didn't know you could find it on YT. Thanks for people like I don't have to rummage through the incredible but chaotic mass of YT. Thanks

  20. Spike says I never realized Jeff Beck could play in an Indian style, and so convincingly. Any excuse for Klimt is fine with me.
