Now when you pick a pawpaw or a prickly pear, and you prick a raw paw. Next time beware, don't pick the prickly pear by the paw

Some songs never fail to bring a smile on my face and help me get through the day.So for those of you who will have a manic Monday ahead of them, here's something especially for you. Click play and the bare necessities will come to you.

Here's also Satchmo whose horn you can hear accompanying Terry Gilkyson or if you prefer Baloo.

Happy New Week Everyone
(Special thanks to lady A. whose post triggered this reminiscing of pleasurable tunes from Disney movies)

  8. soulrocket says i own both the film & the satchmo record. those are instant feel-good classic songs. they brought a big smile to my face. i have a 7" with a goofy version of "necessities" sang in spanish by the mexican actor tin tan, it works like a great tool to spin at the end of a dj session, the song was featured in a very known advert to promote canary island extra-sweet bananas. thanks for making my monday easier, b. love that one too, lilja88.

  10. ivylander says This is the movie I used to try and cajole my kids into watching instead of "The Lion King," for Phil Harris as well as Satchmo.

  12. Bartleby says I had this song in my head all through Sunday, so I just wanted to share it with you. I'm glad it found some welcoming ears too. LeftoverK: I almost forgot about the vulture. Was it the new re-issue double DVD? Thanks for popping this corner of MOG. Beth: You know what they say: Smile and the world will smile with you. Lilja: What can I say? I wanna be like you oohoo...too. Thanks for the reminder. SoulR: I'm familiar with Tin Tan but have never his rendition of "Bare Necessities." Do you think we could have a listen on your MOG one of these days? (Not necessarily Sunday). Ye-Ye: Oh hi there. Do you mean you're married to a boy of 7 years old??? :p Thanks for your comment and this personal picture. Ivy: I'm sure they'll come to it in due time. The Jungle Book songs are far superior to the ones in the Lion King, in my humble opinion. Annie: Thanks for visting. That's the genius of good films, isn't it? They never tire.
