Xplct lyrix on Friday: Nazi Girlfriend by Iggy Pop

Posted over 4 years ago
It's been a while since I posted anything to make you blush with aural coyness.

I hope you'll enjoy this deceptively reflective little tune

I want to fuck her on the floor
Among my books of ancient lore
So I will make a full report
I got a Nazi girlfriend
Its not the four-inch heels she wears
Its not her baby-fine blond hair
Its more the desert in her stare
Ive got a Nazi girlfriend
She's not the colt
That she once was
She's elegant
But youth is lost
Still she has ways to make me talk
I love you Nazi girl
Her French is perfect
So's her butt
She wears two crosses
Tangled up
She's independent
She's not dumb
Tough little Nazi girl
So now Ive fucked her on the floor
Among my books of ancient lore
And I have made a full report
About a Nazi girl

  1. Girlcrawl says I know this album received somewhat lukewarm reviews from some, whilst others were very positive - I am of the latter camp. Find the soothingly spare musical accompaniment perfect for the lyric's subject matter, and there are a couple of rather rousing tracks to be had. Great post, and I'm suppose to exclaim 'oh my, I'm blushing'...was it believable? Cheers!

  2. Jonh Ingham says Iggy is such an underrated lyricist. "It's more the desert in her stare". That's fantastic - as succinct as Borges. "Her French is perfect, So’s her butt, She wears two crosses, Tangled up". Chuck Berry couldn't write it better.

  5. Bartleby says GirlC: I see the picture didn't deter you in the least. "Avenue B" has been unfairly dismissed by those so-called musical cognoscenti. I quite honestly like it a lot. - Blush wasn't the word, grin maybe. Jonh: Couldn't agree more. Same thing for his "Passenger." Brendan: This song does always make me smile though I must some women can be real fascist hags (no offence to any ladies out there I hope). SoulR: Thanks for the perfect 10. "Avenue B" is highly recommended in this MOG-closet.

  6. lilja88 says Iggy is certainly blushworthy. my friend saw him perform at the Vegoose festival in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. she said the first words that came out of his mouth were "I'M SO FUCKED UP!!!" he proceeded to swagger around stage, seemingly quite oblivious to the full-frontal exposure caused by his lack of a belt and incessant gyrations. as much as I love Iggy's music, it amazes me that he's still alive and kicking, not to mention dancing and singing!

  7. Carolyn O'Brien says wow, those lyrics are great, but you know what I like? between verses there are two tracks, one where he's humming, and 2 octaves above that, he whistles. that is eeeeeeerie!
