WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Music to soothe the Beast

Posted over 2 years ago
To soothe the Beast some will try kindness and sympathy. Mine is of a different nature and does not to respond to a gentle touch...
It's now time to tame the beast. To make it lay still and low... To feed him with the flesh of music... Sounds so full that his blood will spill over. All thoughts leaving him will follow through.

(One cautionary word: Fugazi's music is not the faint of the ears - do not press play if you're not in a mood for an abrasive song)
[This comes from a dear dear friend of mine]
The exorcism of our demons will one day end.

  1. ngtivspace says I believe this post deserves a hell-fucking-yeah. 3 actually: 1 for the song itself (yay Fugazi), 1 for the killer drawing of the beast, and 1 for the tag, "Do not play if you're not in the mood..." You are bold & kind, and I like that about you.

  2. Grievous Angel says i prefer a more relaxed mode of exorcising, preferably accompanied by a very dry musical martini, leaving me not shaken, but stirred.

  3. Cody B says Love the illustration. Primal scream therapy...I can dig it. There is therapy in the electric guitar. Pair the Fugazi with the Abbey for a cure/start for schizophrenia. Loved 'em both. What does that say about me? Lemme see if I can get schizo with it...

  4. Bartleby says Thank you for visiting this MOG-closet. Ngtivspace: The illustration is a drawing representing "La bête du Gévaudan" or the "Beast of Gévaudan" which oddly enough would only devour women (wiki link) GA: Thanks for the Abbey Lincoln. Relaxed exorcism is also my favourite kind but I felt like something rougher and more physical. Cody: Your tune to soothe the beast is most incongruous...but in a very pleasant way. Thank you for the gift.

  5. soultronica says This is really raw dog. I love it. I don't even try to soothe the beast, since it always simmers just below the surface anyway. I've been conditioned and trained to restrain it in most social contexts; I do it with tracks like this. I do think, though, the world would be a much better place if we all just came to grips with our native bestiality and released it regularly, instead of suffocating it until it explodes in destructive ways. Which sort of begs the question: who's crazier, those who release the beast, or those who deny it exists?

  6. Bartleby says Hi, Soutron'. Thanks for the hypertext concurrence... I agree with you it's better to unleash the beast in us than simply doing the "ostrich."

  8. Bartleby says Hola madrid spacestation spain, thank you for visiting this MOG-closet. Glad you enjoyed Fugazi. The drawing is taken from a French website on "The Beast of Gévaudan." Now are you telling me that it's now prowling the streets of Madrid? Cheers.

  9. madrid spacestation spain says if i'm not mistaken, maybe the beast of gevaudan likes to vacation here during the winter. though i have found various illustrations, i am quite sure it is this gevaudan fellow, he seems to have a very french gait and drinks more table wine then is socially exceptable here. I like this --->Although it was said to be able to leap up to thirty feet, this most probably results from an error in reading its tracks
