WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Between thought and expression

Between thought and expression lies a lifetime
Situations arise because of the weather

[...]
The possibilities are endless
And for me to miss one
Would seem to be groundless

(A track to shake off a momentary mood)

  2. lucystarlite says i love love love this song. in a similar vein, and with lou reed at the start, have you heard antony & the johnsons' fistful of love? here is a live performance of it (on the album lou reed starts the song): lucy.

lucy: There was a time when I listened to Antony & The Johnsons so much that the disc could have been worn out and burnt (as it were) by the laser beam of my CD player. Love the song you've embedded as well as the other 9 tracks on "I Am A Bird Now"

  5. lampgirl says I absolutely adore this song (Velvet Underground). As for Antony & The Jonsons, have to say I find it difficult. The voice, yes, it's incredible. But Nina Simone does it better. I keep trying to enjoy antony & the johnsons but have not yet succeeded. I'm missing something? That said, there is definitely something in this live performance. Something that does grab me. So I continue to try...

  6. Bartleby says lampgirl: Thanks for your comment. I don't think you're missing anything if you're not into Antony. Music as any other arts shouldn't be imposed. How many times have I opened a book only to close it because it wasn't for me. At least not then. Later, I'd pick it up again and be delighted in reading it through. Same thing with records and paintings.
Music, literature and art in general is a matter of love. Love cannot be forced (or it'd be rape)

  8. HelenMarie says Love Velvet Underground. I feel like I've seen some comments like this somewhere before. Another day and another feeling for something always liked, loved or hated.

  9. Bartleby says SunshineDaydream: Are you saying that our tastes are just as mercurial as the English weather? Then, critiques and reviews wouldn't make much sense, would they?

  10. HelenMarie says Positive reinforcement, if anything. ...? I'm fine with that. ; )
