In an era in which music evolves faster than the speed of light, artists find themselves keeping up with the Jones' to stay relevant. What's really in a name? For those aren't who aware of the evolutions of Day 26, here's a brief history lesson, these talented young men, lives changed for the better on August 26, 2007, the day in which they were introduced to the world as the new men of Bad Boy Entertainment. With their debut release, self-titled, they proved they had exceptional talent, now with Forever in A Day in stores April 14th, can Day 26 withstand the sophomore jinx?
Opening with Just Getting Started they're previewing you for whats to come for the remainder of the disc. We all know the sophomore release, the artists' have more control in regards to what they put out. What do you get when you add Ciroc+the club? The end result is Imma Put it On Her & Shawty Wats Up. Two definite club hits.Teaming up with some of the hottest producers & writers in the game, they have the factors to yet another number 1 album.
There's definite growth in which they talk about more personal issues on Perfectly Blind penned by baby boy himself, Que which hints around to the financial issues & realities surrounding the industry. Everyone, non-industry alike can feel these lyrics. Very heart-felt.
In my opinion this album is like your perfect grind session. Follow my thought here, they know when to speed it up, then stroke us at the right time for that ultimate climax. On such tracks like So Good & Baby Maker they know exactly what we want to hear.
Overall Forever In a Day is definitely not like their debut. It's not supposed to be, they're evolving & like the group itself, this album is filled with each of their personalities & you can sense it. There's a track for each of their fans, both old & new. You can tell these guys are hungry, & as long they stay consistent, they'll be around for Forever in a Day.
