This weekend I went to Hillside Inside in Guelph and had the most fantastic time of my life. It was definitely one of the best indoor music festivals I have ever been to.I love that The Weakerthans and Dallas Green were there and I was introduced to Shout Out Out Out Out's sick dance music. Generally either than Wintersleep the acts were really good.Not to be a Wintersleep "hater" but Attack in Black was waaaaaaay better than them and had to perform on a smaller stage...lame. I feel bad for them really because Wintersleep sounds like a band I should like but I just can't. I mean separately from the band the lead singer's voice is wicked and it's not like they can't play their instruments (although the keyboard guy seemed kind of useless)...I dunno I feel like I'd enjoy their record but them live wasn't a great experience.Anyway, easily the best act the day was Xavier Rudd. That man is a bloody genius. The huge contraption he sits behind is ridiculous. I mean being a small person I'm intimidated by a lot of large things but come on this thing had like a thousand instruments on it. Really his music is just amazing brings you to another level of consciousness man, haha. But really if you ever get the chance to see him live DO IT, you will thank me later.
