MOG MOG

WHERE E=MC HAMMER

I go to download a couple of more CDs from my collection and realize how much of a mess this Library is in. I knew it all along but have just been trying my damnest to ignore it.... God, it's tough being naked, it's all your fault Mog, for revealing us to the world....

How many Moggers out there have a neat and tidy Library, or who gets voted the messiest Mogger?

(and pass me a fig leaf would you?)

When my library started to grow, I took it on myself to spend a chunk of time getting it straight, and I QC everything that goes in to make sure all the tags are clean & proper.

It's worth it, otherwise I'd never find anything.

Bless you Dd, this is just a laptop and mom makes it look a lot neater than it is....it's all those single tracks from various artists that come from only God knows where...!#?

I can't find my library to see if it's messy or not. But if memory serve, it's a mess!

those single songs can sometimes be more lovely, until they find a home...

QC = Quality Control!

I have a custom playlist setup that I drag all new tracks into. That way they don't get lost if their tags are incorrect or missing. They're automatically added to the library and I can make sure they're all Kosher that way easily.

Dave - Cool, that makes so much sense. Part of my problem is I've used musicmatch for the ondemand feature, sweet but far from tidy, (and buggy), knowing that someday I would get a storage file system but don't like what I see in Apple or WM, really looking for options I guess. Thanks.

My on-line library's in OK shape, my physical music library less so. I've been transferring CDs to iTunes and leaving them all over the joint. So on Saturday I finally bit the bullet and put them back in order. All now neatly alphabetized and broken down into the proper categories (rock, salsa, Brazlian, etc.). Took a little over three hours. I slept like a rock Saturay night.

If it makes you feel any better at all - I don't even pay attention to my on-line library or how mog tagged them. My whole library could be wrong and I wouldn't even know.

Oh, I really ought to make a QC folder. My tunes are all nice and tagged here on my laptop, but are quite a mess on my main computer thanks to all the MOG suggestions I've been downloading and importing like a crazy mofo lately. My obsessive compulsive nature will eventually drive me to fix everything neat and tidy, though. Mmm... I love to organize! :)

Hahaha, you know, Chris always jokes that if I can't find a job in engineering, I could go into business being a professional organizer. :)

I would think engineering would be more fulfilling, unless of course you made a TV show - " AJs' Get Organized with a Twist ", brought to you by the good folks at Mog.com where all your music fantasies become a reality

i am obsessive compulsive about my digital music library. the reason i do not post or comment MORE, is because that time is spend tagging, arranging, and fixing my library.
