Any swingin' dick can be a father. It takes a very strong man to be a dad. Parenthood is one of the most incredibly difficult gifts bestowed by the gods.

rightly so; not having had "the privilege" due in equal parts to choice, fear and ignorance, I believe it is a commitment that many do not take seriously enough.

And he is so correct. One need only look around to see children having children, children without fathers growing wild in the street. Broken shattered hearts in chests too small to comfort grow into cold stones in hard people.
